Kids slamming front door

The kids are always slamming the front door (wood) on the way out. The paint between the door jams and wall is cracking.

Anyway, I want to be able to "dampen" the closing of the door and perhaps even spring close it. I've been looking at these hinges.

Does anybody else have similar hinges? Does it slow down the closing of the door, as well as closing it automatically?

    Many thanks,

Wouldn't it be easier to get the kids to stop?

But ya those hinges will slow the door down. All the reviews suggest disassembling them first and greasing them, otherwise they are noisy.

    You'd need an anti-slam yokie :

Oil the receiver so the door is easier to close, then educate your kids on closing the door gently! I'm still working on my 24 year old!

Could always try those draft strips if door allows them and they would dampen the bang.

An ordinary automatic door closer (seen in commercial settings normally - used to ensure the door closes for fire spread protection) You can set the rate at which they pull the door closed (and it's impossible to slam the door shut with them). The last bit of the pull ensures the door can pull locked over the latch.

Easy enough to fit/adjust too and probably not too expensive.
