I think the point is that they don't know...

The most innocent clues can sometimes help crack a case. The objects are all taken from the background of an image with sexually explicit material involving minors. For all images below, every other investigative avenue has already been examined. Therefore we are requesting your assistance in identifying the origin of some of these objects. We are convinced that more eyes will lead to more leads and will ultimately help to save these children.

Can you help us recognise the objects? We specifically want to trace their origin (location/country).

Mm. Thinking about it? They'll be looking at images, probably harvested from computers they've confiscated from convicted people. Hardly going to have such details attached, are they?

But, someone might be holidaying in a hotel right now, and recognise that shower. Or they might recognise that candle / pot pouree looking thing from a room they're familiar with.

I seem to vaguely remember, not so long ago, there was a drive to photograph ye hotel room? May well have been a similar thing, in reverse. Lot of this sh!t goes on in hotel rooms. Snap ye carpet, curtains, closet. What ever. One day, the Police may find a picture of a child in front of those curtains.

I don't go anywhere myself. Or I'd f**king plague them! Complete photo shoot of every room I stayed in. And, let's face it; A LOT of AH's Boardsies seem to get about the world. Clickety click, every trip!

Nothing horrible, pictures of inside of houses, people's t shirts, general house hold objects. It still feels horrible knowing what the images are related to though.

I know you wouldn't, sorry. I wasn't sure what to expect. It was mainly any kind of description of the offenses that I was worried about. For example I'd avoid news reports etc.

At least they are trying whatever they can to track the bastards down.

Its pictures of items that were spotted in the background of child abuse videos. No children in the pics. Like one of the pics is of a really old camera and they are trying to figure out what make and model it is which might help track down the owner of the camera and nail the bastards.

Well, they now know who made the bag and it is probably from a distinct timeframe. They can now use that with other clues to narrow things down.

On the contrary, to me it says that even though perhaps that is all they have they still haven't given up. Any agency that keeps digging even to the point of trying to identify a plastic bag is an agency that doesn't give up easily, that reassures me.

Plastic bags of all things could be very useful. First and most obviously - does it have a brand-name on it. Another thing could be "is it visibly disintegrating" - if it is, it was brought in after the biodegradable plastic bags became the norm. Etcetera.

I have trouble making out what most of those images even are. Still, it's a good idea. Countries would help though.
