Marriage - Game Over

    A year ago I posted this…

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057620269

    Things have now escalated significantly.

My wife finally left last week with my young son back to her country.

This time I was the guilty party.

All the time she was accusing me of cheating with someone I never physically met actually drove me and the third party closer. Messages of a sexual nature were exchanged between me and the other party which were eventually found by my wife. I've never actually physically met the other party in the twenty plus years that I've known her.

She insisted I drive her and my young son to Dublin airport the next day, saying that she would 'top herself' if I didn't. I had to comply.

Part of me still thinks that a bad marriage is better than no marriage.

I’m devastated and in a really bad place. I’m sure many of you will want to judge me. I really don’t care. Just need to unload right now.

It's an unfortunate situation for sure, but I don't see you taking any responsibility for the situation you are in. I remember your thread last year, and by all accounts, your wife sounded quite irrational, aggressive and just an all round not a very nice person. But to say her accusations pushed you to this? Come on now. You did this- take responsibility for that. You didn't have to.
It's up to you now whether you feel this is something that is worthy of being worked on- has this behaviour continued since last year? It sounds like you two are better off apart- however it is very unfair that she has your son. Have you spoken to her since she got back to her home country?
You need to get legal advice.

First thing that comes to my mind: What's with your son? Is he in school? Are his friends here?
Get legal advice right now and prepare for a long and nasty break-up. This woman is completely out of her mind.

I'm not making any comments to you and the other woman other than: It takes two to tango, take responsibility for that.

op, she sounds like somebody who has severe physiological issues and you should go and bring the child home.

get her help before it impacts your son. and you should never have allowed her to leave with him.

    God no.

You have to stop thinking like that.
