    Currently dealing with Microsoft online support while arsing around on my phone. IT lad's name is Rei. And he is clearly not a native speaker... He's now trying something with control of my computer as his first two ideas didn't work.

    This may take a while.

    Anyone had any fun interactions with these lads?

    And is it bad that my first thought was, 'Jaysus, another Indian'?

    I also have a stop watch going at the mo. I tried phone support first and my computer said that I should be contacted within two minutes.

    It's now been roughly 25 with no sign of that call.

    It's fun just taking the pure piss out of them, ask them what colour should the mouse cursor be and what's his favourite humming noise. Ask him if you put the internet cable in vertically will it run faster than horizontally as the data might flow better down the line.

    It's fun just taking the pure piss out of them, ask them what colour should the mouse cursor be and what's his favourite humming noise. Ask him if you put the internet cable in vertically will it run faster than horizontally as the data might flow better down the line.

    One of the lads kept a conversation going by saying he had six computers and didn't know which one they were referring to. Went on for ages until he said that he'd have to fire up the auld coal-powered one, the guy hung up then.

    Did they mention that your PC has "a lot of issues" and made you go in to the event viewer to show you all these "viruses"?

    It's a known scam.

    When I worked in tech support for an ISP, any time we wanted to get rid of a caller we would tell them to unplug their modem. Classic move from Jhea. Classic.

    A friend that worked in Microsoft told me he used to wait until after lunch to ring tech support as the US guys would be online and you have less chance of getting one of the lads in Mumbai.

    Ehhh... I'm on the 5th tech guy. The 4th did something and seemingly completely wiped my computer...

    The 5th is trying to recover the data...

    It's been like six hours and now my computer has just been shagged by Indian tech support...
