Our newbuilt comes with a Nolan Kitchen which has only 1 year warranty. The modifications we want to make with Nolan are pricier than a whole new IKEA kitchen, and the price gap will be even wider if we install it ourselves!

The 25 years warranty from IKEA feels extremely valuable, but we believe we should look around a bit more..

    Two questions:
Any comments on IKEA kitchen quality?
Would you recommend another shop to check out?

When I was looking into getting a new kitchen last year, the recommended suppliers were inhouse, cash and carry, and Ikea - that was based on trawling the internet etc. we went with Ikea in the end, self installed, and no issues to date.

Good value kitchens but the 25 year warranty is only against manufacturing defects.

We've installed 5 IKEA kitchen in total over the years, In different houses and I can say that we've never been let down.
We've always designed it ourselves, collected everything and installed it on our own or with a little help from friends.

The kitchen we've installed in 2001/2002 in one of our previous houses, is still there, looking and functioning like new.

yeah ikea is good value if your are handy and able to install yourself but just to have someone come in and put in the kitchen is also to be considered
