Lidl German website

Firstly I hope this is the correct place to put this it's not specifically a bargain but it is bargain related question. Mods if this is in the wrong place feel free to move it.

So I'm looking for a few tools to do some small DIY jobs that I'll have coming up in the next month or so. I don't do much DIY so I don't want to spend too much and I've heard good things about the Lidl range of Parkside tools. Unfortunately they aren't currently available in the Irish stores but I found that you can order them on the German site, They also offer other specials on the site, and get them delivered to a service such as https://www.mailboxde.com/.

What I'm wondering is has anyone here ordered from the German site and would I be able to return the items in store if there was any issue?

Lidl don't do instore returns of faulty goods, its done through Germany via their Kildare call centre. They will just send out a replacement.

    Can't help you I'm afraid.

Just wondering if it'd be cheaper to source things locally? I'd imagine it wouldn't be cheap to get heavy tools forwarded from Germany.

It very well might be and that's something I'm looking into at the same time. The reason I was thinking this might be worth while was because the items I'm looking at would be from their 20v cordless range so if I needed something else I'd be able to pick them up in Lidl and interchange the batteries.

In terms of shipping cost from using mailboxde before I'm thinking it'll be €15-20 so will need to decide if that still works out better value or not

Thanks op, bought two Lidl German websites. :p

P.S. Try 'Online Buying and Auctions' forum where this may be better suited.

That Lidl site is excellent. I would like to order from there.

BTW, anyone know who makes Parkside?

My experience is that the batteries tend to fail, so, replacement option is needed.

There are a few importers working with Lidl: Grizzly, Einhell, Kompernass and Targa IIRC. Check the manual for hint which one stocks the spares.

They do if you come back with a faulty item within 60 days from purchase.

That's if you bought from an Irish store. Buying from a German website means returning to the German website. The plug will be the giveaway.
