Hi,

I have purchased a new car (under 6 months old) from the UK. I am going to pay the Irish VRT and VAT in the next week or so. Has anyone any experience on reclaiming the VAT charged on a UK car when bought from the dealer. Due to circumstances beyond my control, the dealer never filled out the VAT411 form and therefore there was UK VAT charged on the car before export.
