My great grandparents were Catherine Whelehan and John Moran both lived in Milltownpass, County Westmeath,

Now I have tried Irishgenealogy.ie, Ancestry, Family Search, FindMyPast and none of them seem to have a record of their marriage.

Have you browsed the indices in the GRO?

I appreciate it would be difficult if you live in Texas, but sometimes you have to go back to basics.

Sometimes it proves impossible to find a record for an event, either because the registrar makes a major mistake, or the event was never registered.

It also has to be considered that a marriage never took place, because one party might be already married to a third party, or because of some impediment. Such relationships are more common than many people think. Prominent people in Ireland have been the product of such relationships. There should be no shame now,or indeed in the past.
