    A midrange HD stream is 7.5 Mbps

    30 mins is 1800 seconds so 1800x7.5=13500mb for a half hour is 13.5 gig of data-ish for a half hr HD stream.

    an SD stream is about 2.2-3 mbps on average.

    Low res stuff off some 'iptv' boxes is often less that 1 mbps.

    Divide the above numbers by 8.

    1Mbps = 1MB/s

    Are you sure.

    That was a typo.

    I meant 8Mbps = 1MB/s hence the "divide by 8" bit

    ok seems quite a lot.... surely even providers that say unlimited usage wouldnt be happy with people using so much if they watch a lot of tv...

    Even 5 hours a day for 30 days would only be about 140Gb for HD streams.

    Most IPTV streams are far from HD even though they claim to be so you could easily half that number.
    All Unlimited usage policies have fair use limits well in excess of this.

    I internet is only 3 Mbps is this strong enough for iptv?

    I wouldn't imagine so

    My "unlimited" broadband is capped at 300GB, I have recently been using IPTV and I am concerned I will easily reach 300GB with moderate TV viewing on IPTV and watching movies on Kodi etc combined with Spotify streaming and YouTube etc etc.

    I wasn't concerned with broadband usage until I started using IPTV. I don't know exactly what the numbers are but doing a bit of reading online suggests IPTV uses up the GB quite quickly
