Favourite Cartoon Characters

Of the obvious ones, Homer Simpson and Eric Cartman from South Park would be two of my favourites but I was thinking more of the not so obvious star characters that I like from cartoon shows.

I really like Butters from South Park. I love the episode Casa Bonita where Cartman tricks Butters into believing that a meteor has hit Earth and he tries to make a new civilization :pac: and poor Butters when Cartman's prank goes wrong and he gets sent to a conversion camp because his dad thinks he's "bi-curious"! He always comes out with really thoughtful and insightful little speeches :)

I was reminded of King of the Hill from a poster in here recently and I loved Bobby Hill. He was so funny. I also liked Dale Gribble. He was full of conspiracy theories but seemed completely unaware that his son Joseph was not his biological son even though he bared an extreme resemblance to John Redcorn, the man his wife Nancy had an affair with.

Other favourites of mine are Peppermint Patty from Charlie Brown who refers to Snoopy as "the funny looking kid with the big nose" and Helga from Hey Arnold and her dramatic love/hate relationship with Arnold. Also Phil and Lil from Rugrats.

Bender from Futurama, or really any of the characters from Futurama. Stan from Gravity Falls, Finn from Adventure Time, Rick from Rick and Morty, Pinky from Pinky and the Brain, Both Angry Beavers, Ren from Ren and Stimpy, there is a ton more but that'll do for now
    I love animation!

In recent times, I loved Scaramouche in the recent season 5 of Samurai Jack. Always hilariously upbeat no matter what shit happened to him.

    Steven Universe!

There's a lot of fantastic cartoon characters, but I discovered the genius that is Steven Universe recently, so he's the first one I thought of and my current favourite.

I don't know if anyone remembers him, but my favourite was 'Family Dog', one of Tim Burton's early creations, and part of Steven Spielberg's 'Amazing Stories'.

Also, let's not forget Pepé Le Pew, and Speedy Gonzales. And Yogi and Boo Boo. Among the more recent ones, Shaun the Sheep, but I don't know whether I can consider it a proper cartoon.

Read again Brigadier 5 Star General Zapp Brannigan has been given his dues, one of my fondest memories was Billy West telling me the champagne was gone at Dublin Comic Con two years ago, best voice actor ever.

This is one of the best on TV now. Very much like anaimanics in its humour.

Ulysses is way up there at no.1 for me! What a cartoon and what a heroic character.

Homer, Peter Griffin, Zapp Brannigan, Troy McLure and Eric from Dungeons and Dragons are others.

On the question above, was it Once upon a Time?

Edit, it was this with the above characters I think

    Buttons and Mindy
"Whatcha doin?" "Why?" "Why?" "Ok I love you. Bye Bye"
    "Hiya pretty lady"
    "Silly Buttons"

Taz and Taz's dad. I still use his "Blah Blah Blah Yakkity Schmackity" line

There are a lot but right now I'm drawing a blank. I really need to start rewatching.
But one pairing that comes to mind though sadly didn't get to see enough of them was Ectar and Reekon from Visionaries.

Man, I forgot about Zoidberg! :D

Oh, and how can I forget Mort Goldman from Family Guy who is based on The Jerky Boys Sol Rosenberg and voiced by the same guy, Johnny Brennan. Spent a lot of the mid 90's listening to those tapes. :)

Homer, Grampa, Mr Burns, Apu and Moe during the classic years (before Mike Scully and Al Jean willingly ruined them all).
