Moto v Sony

I am finding my Moto G4 a little too large for comfortable handling (5.5 display) and other small but irritating issues. Thinking of switching to Sony XA - I previously had an Xperia J which was very laggy so wondering if anybody has anything to say on Xperia XA (my budget wouldn't really stretch beyond that)
