NCT in Nov, can I get tested 2 or 3 mths before?

    Hi.. have a 12 year old mazda, its due a nctin nov..whats the earliest i can book to get a new one?
    People at work saying two mths before,some say 3..
    Is this correct?

    3 months.

    If you get it done before 3 months you will get 1 year from that date.

    For a 12 year old car, there is no reason (beyond wanting a shiny new cert to help sell the car) to do the test more than 90 days before it's due or as Atlantic_Dawn says above, you will get a cert. for 1 year which starts from the date of the test. If it's less than 90 days before the due date, you'll get a 12 months cert. that starts on the due date.

    Spot on. For its worth, i'd always book the car in 3mths before due date. Let's face it, mechanically, they all deteriorate, so it's fair to assume any car will be in better shape when it's 3mths younger.
