Hey there, wondering if the weird bolt type icon can be hacked/found in the android system. The manufacturer has decided to alter the icons with this phone (using a really bad designer). Looks ok in image but on phone it's tiny and obstructs being able to see what the icon does clearly...

Not an expert, I presume getting to this modification might be tricky ? Would I be lucky enough to find a png file I can just delete!

Can you not just install a new launcher then install a different theme?

Hey the launcher is fine, this is the built in Android quick settings on drag-down. Unaffected by launcher. I use Nova, which is amazing as a launcher... same on whatever one is loaded...

I can't believe that's the stock appearance? Looks rubbish....

Is there not some theme you apply on the device that can change that?

In any case, if you root your device, then I can easily help you change that stuff. I've been modding androids for years, and it's generally not too bad to track down an icon and change it.

Well when it's un-rooted, no - any theme/launcher, doesn't seem to have access to the quick settings...

I havn't rooted before, don't think its worth the effort.

There are a couple of apps to modifiy the quick settings, but they are not comprehensive enough. ie. they won't let you switch off and on mobile data in one click etc.

By the way I work in Design, so this kind of stuff really wrecks my head...! (I know
don't take it too serious.)

1.on some icons, they have stuck in the bolt graphic, for no reason.
2.Some of the rest they seem to have made smaller/thinner, like aeroplane mode.
3.Then to top it off they left a few others "normal" like Battery and Cast...

Uuuugh. (first world problems.)

Thanks, yes it's not bad but doesn't include wifi and bluetooth etc as the presumption is the OS has a nice clean icon for that! Thanks anyway...

In trying to solve this came across an amazing app EAS
Swipe in from side for recents, as icons - but it's the ability to configure it in multiple ways... so I set it up to just touch the edge for GO BACK and double tap for GO HOME and then swipe in for app switching.
