I applied for illness benefit last week. I'm currently unemployed and with Turas Nua. I rang Turas Nua to inform them. They said I'd have to provide a weekly sick cert from my GP every week until I get a letter back from social welfare confirming that I've been awarded illness benefit. How long is it likely to take? I applied for illness benefit last week. I'm currently unemployed and with Turas Nua. I rang Turas Nua to inform them. They said I'd have to provide a weekly sick cert from my GP every week until I get a letter back from social welfare confirming that I've been awarded illness benefit. How long is it likely to take? Social welfare cert is free but I have to pay for the normal cert and they're insisting on one every week.
