It should be. If it's FTA for one then it is FTA for all.

My tuners had not updated .... I forced a re-scan and Quest showed as unencrypted. I also see Quest Red is in the clear.

It's good to see them free to air. There isn't many documentary channels besides food network, travel , PBS etc. Nice to be able to watch some of the railroad Alaska, Bear Grylls shows

Is the frequency in the OP correct? Have searched that a few times and can not bring the station up.

Have a Freesat box, not in the Freesat channel list, so searching in none Freesat Mode.

    Edit

    Found it.

Is this likely to go onto Freesat?

I read somewhere that the stream is carrying Freesat data, so in due course.

I had a look at the schedules and it's just wall to wall reality sh1t as far as I can see, Spike, Blaze, Tru, various Channel 5s and ITV4 already have enough of this stuff.

a516 digital - up and running on freesat

Just noticed that myself. Hopefully the 2 normal channels stay clear.

The 2 main channels are now on the FreeSat EPG so should be staying put. Whether it was a mistake or premature to clear the +1s is a good question since they are not on spot beams.

It'd be great if they did stay put. I'm not a huge fan of Quest Red but welcome all additional free channels. I've watched a few shows on Quest such as Ultimate Airport, overhauling, how it's made etc. Like the channel

Seen it on the EPG last night. Was one of the channels that I missed from Freesat that was on Freeview.

This is a damn good channel, I find an interesting programme every time I flick over to it. Wish we'd had it a couple of years ago before streaming got so easy though, I dont really watch regular tv anymore.

I cant find Quest +1 on that transponder, has it moved again? This thread says its 12383, the other thread says its 12382, cant find anything on either:

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057811118

Also does anyone know if the channel "Vintage TV" is dead or just moved? Found a couple of different results for them aswell, nothing on any of them.

    Receiving Quest perfectly, great channel.

I just scanned for them this evening Thargor and they came up no problem. Quest and Red are a great addition to free to air, I was watching Railroad Australia - great show. Strange why they arent showing up for you.

And as Thurston? said Vintage is on 11597V, 22000 as is Travel+1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,121 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Nah I tuned them in no problem when they first appeared and they're still going great, its their +1s that I cant find, tried searching that TP on Eurobird as well as Astra, tried in V as well as H just in case, the +1s dont seem to exist for me for some reason. Ill just give it a day or two and try again and they'll probably appear then, I think our Ariva is getting a bit eccentric as it ages.

Will Quest still have the snooker in future given they are free to air now and Eurosport always had the same coverage.

    Are the channels linked?

For some reason my box is not picking up Quest/+1 at all on the Freesat EPG so they are tuned in manually on "other channels". Maybe having just tuned them, a reboot will prompt some magic to happen.
