Hi just wondering what would happen if you are on a written warning say from on the 1st of May 2016 and get called into another disciplinary meeting on say the end of April 2017 and dont hear anything back from that 2nd meeting until after May 1st? Would that mean your 12 month written warning has expired or can a company back date to when the meeting took place at end of April?

    Thanks for your help.

They could simply argue that the incident happened while you were on a previous warning or take into account your previous issues as an excuse to include it without backdating; the fine print is in your employee handbook.

If the second incident happened while the first warning was active then its game on..
Obviously things should be dealt with in a timely manner though..
