Air quality Portlaoise & around the County

This is an ongoing issue especially in Calm weather from the smell of certain people burning Newspapers, Smokey Coal, Even Clothes on occasion,
I just pity the people with Respiratory problems asthma etc.
This used to be a Major problem in Dublin until the early 90's until the Council got their act together & banned the burning of Solid fuels

I know a lot of modern homes are Gas or Oil fired Central Heating,
But their is still a lot of older housing estates burning toxic Solid Fuels particularly Coal, Which is really harmful to themselves & anyone else living close by.

That article is a joke. As obviously are the EPA. The EPA equipment at Emo is in the machinery yard at Emo Court. And right beside the public carpark. Hardly a proper way to measure local air quality! :rolleyes::rolleyes: Possibly the best air in Laois at Emo Court, due to the deciduous trees. Unles they intend to measure the air quality in that acre or so. Then its very representative.
