Chainsaw not revving / chain not turning

    Hi all.

My florabest 35cc Anti Vibration Chainsaw BKS 3516, Serial Number: 90500971 is giving trouble.

It starts ok, has plenty of fuel and I've checked the chain lock is off. The chain moves freely when the saw is off.

    2 questions:
    1) does the chain turn if the machine / throttle is not revved ?
    2) what might be the cause of the throttle suddenly ceasing to work ? I had the saw out a few weeks ago cutting light sticks without any problems.

    Tom

No the chain shouldn't move on idle.

I know on ours I've seen the throttle cable jump out of the retaining bracket down on the carb, then when you pull the trigger nothing is happening.

Look about the engine and pull the throttle and see if you can see it activation the little cam on the carb, it will likely look like a wee black quadrant. (With the saw off naturally)

My first IA (Immediate Action) when troublesome 2 stokes is to clean and or replace the plug.

Apologies for the late reply. thanks for the pointers. Turns out its a snapped throttle cable. The cable is similiar to that on the brakes of a bicycle. Checking to see if I can find someone handy to help.
