Hey, I am currently looking around for work over the summer and am in need of advise regarding who I should hand my CV to? and is it advised to stick in an envelope? I am asking as I have not worked prior and am currently in college.

I usually put my CVs in a thin A4 folder- the type that has a clear plastic front and a coloured back (you can get them in mr price or easons). It keeps it clean yet it's obvious that it's a CV.
Dress smartly as you might bump into the person who will be interviewing you in the future- first impressions count.
Go into the shop/cafe etc and ask to speak to the manager or supervisor. Put on your best "friendly and helpful" expression and tell them you live locally and are looking for summer work.
Be prepared to give out lots of CVs. In the meantime use any contacts you have to look for work- parents, friends, relatives. A lot of jobs are never advertised. I've got most of my jobs through word of mouth not from cold calling with CVs.
Good luck with your job hunting.

Thanks a lot, Ill be sure to use your advice. From what I've heard you definitely need to hand out a lot of CVs. I think I have some of those folders around so I may use them as well. Thanks again.
