I'm wondering if anyone can help me iv been refused my application for disability allowance
I'm gutted and don't really know where to go from here, iv submitted all my paperwork and they have said my application has been refused
It tells me I can appeal within 21 days but I'm not sure that it will help as I don't have anything to add to an appeal
Has anyone here successfully applied for this with depression
Thanks in advance for any advice

Try not to be disheartened they refuse huge amounts of people.
First off I suggest you ask for a review as that means someone will go through your application page by page and check the reason for refusal was correct.

You could wait until after that to appeal or appeal at the same time and write a letter saying the reasons why you feel it is needed and a day in your life.
Try and get letters from your doctor too.

hi op, I hope you don't get to dishearten by not getting DA on your first go, what happens is a process and it's my guess that the info given wasn't enough to give you the DA

I would suggest that you write a letter outlining the impact on a daily basis of your illness if you are getting care from a consultant or a mental health team a letter from them, have you been hospitalized? add in as many details as you feel comfortable to give. the people overseeing the DA are kind caring people and try not to block appilaction , but they need information

i would also send a letter to your local tds asking them to support application, add in your letter to DA

make copies of everything , good luck op

I'm in the process of getting my application completed.

Waiting on a letter from the local hospital here to support my application.

However he says it's only 50/50 on whether i get it.

I have a personality disorder and other issues that form part of it such as social problems, no friends etc etc.

He says he has heard of people getting it and others have been shot down?

I can't hold a job very long and don't like working with other people, never have, even in my profession i have those problems, when i'm on the road alone life is great, the problems begin when i interact with others.
