recorder in a private conversation without my consent

    A friend recorded me having a private conversation and now said he will tell people what I said I said some harsh truths..as some of the conversation was about the person recording the conversation is there anything I can do to prevent him from doing this..I am living in this persons home but the living conditions are bad as he is anot alcoholic and is not an easy person to be around..

    Doubtful. Recording a conversation isn't illegal.
    I'd question are they a friend though.

    probably is some legal route you could take to prevent him playing the actual recording.
    but is it worth spending all that time and money going through a court to prevent an acholic pressing play on his phone, keep in mind he can still tell the person what was said.

    Get a solicitor to look at privacy issues. However, if the conversation is about a third party, not you, you might not get far.

    Only takes 1 party to consent to the conversation being recorded.

    If what you said was harsh but truth then you maybe should be ok with them being made public?

    Tbh, trying to chase this legally (which prob won't lead anywhere) will just make matters worse.

    Do you need to think about getting ahead of this? I thinking have you said something slanderous. Something being true and proving its true are two different things.
