Sentencing when other charges may be pending

    If a person is to be sentenced on Charge 1, but Charge 2 may be pending, surely it is unfair on the accused for the judge to know that Charge 2 may happen? After all, Charge 2 might be spurious.

    If Charge 2 is real and the person is convicted on it, then surely the fact that they were previously convicted can then be taken into account.

    Yes, interesting.

    I don't know what more I can add at this point tbh. I also don't know what more anyone else can add, for now, that doesn't prejudice this case.
