Exterior paint help

Ok so I am about to tackle painting my house exterior. We just bought the house and the previous paint was very old and peeling all over. I plan on removing all the loose paint as much as possible with a power washer and scraper. Then I will fill cracks. Finally paint with dulux or fleetwood.

Now my question is, should I use some sort of primer or sealer before painting the house? I'm finding mixed answers on this. The wall is not powdery etc. It's just really weathered. I'm not sure if I need to prime first?

    Any advise please?

Give it a coat of stabilising solution before painting.
