Tesco have discontinued their own brand cream crackers.

They were great value at 26 cents and tasted just as good as Jacobs @ €1.45.

I've been eating these for years - end of an era!
    Thank you for your email.

    Unfortunately, these have been discontinued.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience which this has caused.

I find that very hard to believe.

They still show online for me

    https://www.tesco.ie/groceries/Product/Details/?id=254924998

They have 2-3 big boxes in my tesco, it's pretty much a staple, that'd be like discontinuing a tesco sliced pan. They are often in price comparisons and that is why I reckon they are so cheap, possibly below cost.

Sounds like its a standard email sent out for queries about food with that notice.

Tesco Finest ginger ale, 4x200ml cans - discontinued in their massive reduction in volume of own brands a few years ago. Clearly made for them by someone else but I've no idea who that someone else was. Not found an equivalent, and the nearest in taste are 1L bottles - when its full sugar fizzy ginger ale, 200ml is about all I want at a time and the rest will be flat before I use it

    Was lovely stuff, very refreshing.

Nearest thing I found was Fever Tree Ginger Ale 4 x 200ml in Dunnes, but I haven't seem them there for a while.
    There's a 500ml bottle in Tesco for 2.79

Not as good as Tesco's finest and at around €3.49 for the 4 bottles nearly twice the price, but better than the usual artificial sweetened stuff on sale.

    I disagree.
    Aldi ones are far nicer;)

Between Tesco, Lidl, Jacobs and Aldi the Tesco are my least favourite.

Lidl crackers are cheap & nice but the gigantic pack size does not suit me. All the own brands crackers seem to have improved greatly from what I remember years ago. I remember they used to have dark brown patches on them, probably a sign of cooking at a high temp for shorter time. I remember hearing that about other own brand biscuits, so technically they might "come out of the same factory" but are lower quality.

I used to like Sunsip diet cola in tesco.

    confirmed discontinued here https://www.facebook.com/tesco/posts/654873487905119

Tesco diet xero cola is a good alternative, often sold out..

Alpro Soy Cream. Use to be with the long-life milks, didn't need cooling and had an expiry date sometime around judgement day. I would always stock up on it, buying something like 10 packs of it at a time. It was fantastic for cream sauces, as real cream has a tendency to make me throw up.

Disappeared entirely, and was replaced with soy cream that needs to be in the fridge, and lasts all but 2 weeks. So if I want it, I have to go to Tesco or Supervalu more often now, which I really abhor :(

Ben and Jerry's Cinnamon Buns. My favorite ice cream ever. Has been delisted by all supermarkets in my area (I asked). I can still get it in the cinema, but it's expensive and I try to boycott ice cream parlours here. I will never understand how most places charge at least 3 Euro for a scoop of ice cream, is it made of gold or what?

there was a tesco value swiss roll which I used to eat like a bar :o the new one is even smaller and not good value at all.

King crunchos changed years ago, I heard a rumour since a kid/kids were breaking teeth on them, new ones are softer and nowhere near as good.

    Tesco cream crackers have returned.

Bought a packet a few days ago- not the same product - they're just tasteless now.

I always thought they were just like Jacobs and if they were this might be an explanation.

Jacobs cream crackers are horrible since valeo toods stoped buying them from the traditional Liverpool factory and started buying them from Portugal
The same factory that makes lidl cream crackers now makes jacobs

Won't be buying them any more.

Aldi did these lemon meringue chocolates that were gorgeous. They were part of the Roisin range.

Are they gone forever? I did notice that they never seemed to be there at the till, but to be honest I was quite glad about that - kept me from buying them every time I was there :o

Not exactly the same, but in the same sort of flavour-area, Lidl have 'lime chocolate tartlets' that are absolutely gorgeous if you love citrus in your chocolates:

    s6XSxKy.jpg

They are about the size of a big chocolate and the only reason I think they call them 'tartlets' is because they have a shortbread base.

Only 1.29 for a box of ten!

(there's also a creme brulee one and one other that I can't remember)

Anyone here remember Cadbury's Puds? They were a praline-type chocolate ball that used to be available near Christmas and they were delicious!

Where are the Roy of the Rovers bars? Much like white dog ****e, they seem to have disappeared in the 90's.

Useless and off-topic trivia - the reason for that is that the EU banned bone meal in dog food in 2000.

I asked Aldi on twitter if they'd be bringing them back and they never even knew they had them.:D

I'll keep an eye out for those in Lidl, thanks!

I have long had my suspicions that this range is made by Lily O'Briens - may be a good substitute (albeit pricier!)

I've had them, they are nice but not worth the money IMO.
