    Widespread rain with the risk of heavy and thundery downpours for a time on Saturday which may lead to accumulations of 20-30mm.

    Kerry seems to have missed the heaviest of the rain with just 7mm here outside Tralee and I see Valentia got 16mm approx in 24 hrs .

    Shannon 30mm.

    Casement Aerodrome recorded 38.0mm yesterday bringing its May rainfall total up to 64.5mm now and is at 109% of its average May rainfall.

    That rain yesterday was certainly well needed. Walking the dog down the park after it stopped yesterday evening I had expected there to be the usual puddles about, but no.. the ground soaked it all up straight away.
