    Hi folks,
Have a kettler round patio table for last couple of years. It has a glass top that's removable.. today it got shattered. Not sure how looks like umbrella maybe did some sort of a move and broke it.

Just wondering whats the easier way to get it replaced? I'm assuming its not going to be cheap. The chairs and table are fine and a size we like. Would a glass company cut a new top for it? I assume again toughened table top glass wouldn't be cheap. Would it be best go via a garden centre that stock them and see what cost would be?

    Cheers,
    Mick

Glazers will be able to cut a new top for it and harden the glass for you.

I had to get one done for a coffee table in a previous rental and that cost me about €60 at the time. I'd have bought a far nicer coffee table for less but flatmates insisted on repairing it rather than replacing it.

    Measure the diameter accurately.
Ring first glass in rose mount business park, dub 15.
Tell them the size and what it was. Price it up with toughened glass and polished edge. They're very good to deal with, and reasonable.

I wouldn't ring the house insurance company until I'd checked the policy.

I'd imagine your excess will be a lot more than €120.

Even if your excess was €100 not worth claiming for €20....and having a claim recorded against you.

    €120 sounds very cheap
I had similar one to get a few years ago, tried a few places, but once I mentioned a hole for the Umberella......
I ended up getting a plastic one. To be honest, it is as good as glass, worth looking into and was only about €50 or so. Racking my brain to remember where I got it done, maybe out the back of the airport somewhere, not sure really, will et you lknow if I remember.

    What shape is the table?

    Rectangle

I replaced my table top with some mdf and mosaic tiles a few years back. Mine was a round table so the finish around the edges wasn't great. Rectangle would be much easier.

Ya i was going to suggest either just make it a nice wooden top or to get some plywood and tile the top.
Should be pretty easy with a rectangular shape.

Hi folks it's actually square but has curved edges so maybe not as easy as I thought
