Octopussy and A View To A Kill

    With the passing of Roger Moore, I was talking to a couple of friends of mine and fellow Bond fans. They had some interesting things to say about Roger's last 2 Bond films.

    1. James Brolin or Timothy Dalton was originally to have been Bond in Octopussy.
    2. Octopussy was first meant to be a more villainous character and played by Grace Jones. Was Mayday's character based on this?
    3. A View To A Kill was initially thought of as being a close sequel to Octopussy with Maud Adams reprising her role. Zorin was envisaged as a followup of Orlov.
    4. A View To A Kill was meant to have a part set in Kenya/East Africa.
    5. David Bowie was originally meant to play Zorin.
    6. A homage to Dirty Harry was supposed to be included in A View To A Kill.
    7. The start of Octopussy was meant to be used in Moonraker.
    8. The sniper part of The Living Daylights was written for Octopussy.

    I've heard some of these before but how many if any are true.
