Looking to sell a 9 year old car on the private market (Done Deal etc) that's in or around the 4,500 E range based on same models and age advertised. I've heard that the bottom has fallen out of the private sales market and 1 reason stated was that as a result of the rate of sterling a lot of 2nd hand cars have flooded the Irish market from the North and across the water so selling that route could mean you'd be left with your own car for sale for months.
Whereas I would be looking to sell it in a 4 - 6 week timeframe.
    Trade-in to a garage isn't presently a option (long'ish story).

Anyone know what the market is like out there at the moment?

Sold a car via Carzone priced at €18500 within 3 weeks in April. Once it's priced well, it will sell.

I don't think the 4-5k market is affected by UK and sterling too much. Unless already imported by a dealer. The 15k+ definitely has. What car you selling? Price it well regardless. It will sell. There are buyers for every single car at the right price.

Place a good ad with good pictures and priced well, it will sell. Stuff for sub €5k has much more market than cars in the 15-20k region, especially private sales.

It can take time and patience to sell especially at this time of year when most people are only thinking of their summer holidays rather than buying a car.
