    hi
been having connection issues with the 810, i use cable only. its been sporadic whether it get recognized by the mac etc, have to resort to loading rides via the micro SD card etc.
the USB port metallic bit looks pinkish/purple..Corrosion?? and now it doesn't look like its charging off the computer!!

also i dont use bluetooth to upload as my phone is too ancient

will Garmin do a waranty etc(unit is >2 yrs old) ?

can the edge 25 download courses?
or do i need the 520 or 820 etc for navigation ??
dont really need all the bells and whistles of the 820

    https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=63.0

Search there, good place for info. Ask if you can't find answer.

Etrex 20 or 30 (AA batteries) are good option for audax. People also use the Edge 820,1000. Touring or touring plus is another option

I find the Etrex 20, and just using a track as a simple pretty bullerproof option. I did no research though just copied what two lads I know you were riding audax a long time were doing.

If you search yacf there is a good thread on loading a route AND track at the one time (in different colours) and having the benefit of cues with the track underneath which can never change. I never bothered my b0llix of course
    EDIT: there you go

Sounds like corrosion on the USB connection.

Have you tried to factory reset it?

Garmin will more than likely offer you the same model half price once you return the broken one. They don't really mind how old it is.

The 25 is no use for maps but a handy little unit. Although my experience is limited. I bought one months ago and used it twice haven't seen the bugger since they're very small and easily lost.

If I were buying again I'd get the 520 it does everything you need but if you really depend on maps the bigger screen on the 810/1000 would probably suit better.
