Just wondering are any of you using the heavy netting sheets on silage pits and if so what makes and how are you finding them?. Doing a bit of research as I'm thinking of buying these for next year's silage season.

I'd be interested in finding out something also.

The zil covers are the job, had a 6 month old suckler run up on it and didn't go thru. Heavy enough to stop crows etc but you still need to put tyres on top for weight on the silage. Used it over the maize.

I bought the gravelbags this year. They are made of the same material. I would get covers also if thought they'd do away with tyres. But think tyres still necessary so won't bother. No problems with birds/cats here. More chance of young lads poking with pigtails for some strange reason it's great crack.

Do you use clear plastic sheet , then black then the zil cover or just black plastic and the zil cover? . They say you only need tyres on the edges with the first system.
