Mention it to your builders to not work outside the normal working hours?

It's a breeches of the grant of planning permission.
You will get an inspection from planning enforcement and I guarantee you, whoever is making the complaint will be keeping an eye on the times.

Tell your builders to abide by the grant of permission and stop at 6pm and don't start until 8am.

    Take it as a warning.
Make sure the builder doesn't do it again.

It's worth noting that let's say the officer comes out and the. Tech is still occurring, the name and address of the person is taking also and they are issued with a warning and they too will be mentioned in the warning letter and if it ever went to court, they will also have to appear.

As long as it doesn't keep happening then you are fine.
It was probably a concerte pour that couldn't be stopped as it would effect the structural integrity of the concrete section. That's what I would tell them anyway ;)

Along with, it will never happen again.

If you ensure the builder works within the accepted hours... You should sleep soundly.

The initial warning letter is as a result of someone being pee'd off and notifying the council.
If there are no more incidents, then nothing will happen.

    Dear builder,
See attached letter from council re noise outside of hours directed by council and granted planning permission.

As discussed, I accept this was an one off.

    Thanks
    Daisy.

And if you are fined have the builder pay for it as he should know the basics of standard planning permission conditions.

Depends on the site and which LA.

For Dublin City (Council) it is, generally, unless otherwise conditioned. For most other LAs it's 8am.

Only worry about what u can control, ie the builder.
U can't control the council or the complainer.
Read the planning terms re site hours and print them off for builder.
Maybe it happened the Monday after the clocks went forward. LOL
