    I came across the Retro FM page on FB..They say they plan to broadcast to the south east,hoping to be on air some time towards the end of this month...Anyone have any idea who is involved in the new station?....

    I like the About us section on the FB page nice mission statement

    Retro FM was set up out of pure frustration at the sheer lack of clever music programming on FM radio in Ireland. It's for music lovers, nothing new...nice

    Not on air yet,although it said on their FB page,it would be towards the end of may..They might use mount leinster to broadcast across the south east..

    Perhaps, although the fact that it's probably a pirate station makes that unlikely.

    They could be based around that area..Looking forward to hearing them,I think they may just do weekends for a while,and take it from there,,Just a guess though...

    I checked their page a couple of days ago...I dont see anything to suggest when they are starting..I dont see how they could operate as a pirate these days..

    Oh, I have no doubt that in their heads they have the intention to appear on air. Reality, however, is very much different. It has happened many times before where people make a declaration that their great station will soon appear... just any day now... and then zilch.

    That's very true, some who advertise their brand new station don't even, at the time, have the equipment for a station. It's just a floating idea, something they hope to eventually do. But making an FB page for your station and advertising and hyping an outfit that subsequently never appears does no one any favours.
