You could rent land if you wanted. Obviously starting from scratch you will have your work cut out. However if you work hard and assuming prices quadruple and costs halve over the next couple of years you should start to turn a profit at the turn of the century.

    Best of luck.

    Hahahaha.
I am a hunter and vermin control in my spare time, maybe I'll just stick to walking through farms.

What do you want to farm?

Dairy, Sucklers, Beef finishing, Goats, Pigs, Sheep, Donkeys, Thoroughbred broodmares, Breeding Sporthorses, Fruit farm, Orchards, Poultry, Alpacas, Potatoes, Fodder beet, Maize growing, Other assorted root crops, Cut flowers, Tillage, Organic farming, Snail farming, Rabbits, Lawn turf production, Dairy Buffalo, Christmas trees and/or subsidy farming.

I didn't see it but I was told of a young guy on Countryfile last night who is renting land and farming sheep and works for other farmers as well. Doing general farm work, tractor driving, etc.

Edit : farm manager would be an option for someone with no land and want the best of both worlds. But then you'd need qualifications and experience.

He's working for about 20 other farmers doing any job they need done. Then he has his own place. He's from a town and just stayed on a local farm with his mother house sitting. He formed an interest from then on. Fair play to him. He knows what he wants and he's not afraid of work.
