Dog barking, middle of the night

Hi all, very sleepless night for me. My new doggie (I have her a month now), previously was as good as gold at night, last night took to jumping out of the bed and barking wildly and running up and down stairs, landing, hall like something possessed, 3 or 4 times during the night.

No idea why, cat was asleep, didn't seem to be any noise going on, I'm mystified (and knackered).

    Anyone any ideas/tips?

    how old is the dog?
If she was good as gold for a month, and suddenly jumps out of bed going bonkers, she obviously can hear something that you cant.
Was there something going on outside?
Are you rural or town? something as small as a fox or cat making noise outside can set a dog off. A car door slamming, an owl, a gust of wind making something move - who knows with a dog - they have incredibly super sensitive hearing.

She's 9 months. I live rural. You could be right, she might have heard something I did but this went on for ages.

Still, she's quiet as mouse so far tonight.

Not generally a Barker thank God.

Hi. My springer stared doing the exact same thing and even at the same time at night 1am. In the end I put her back in the crate. To sleep and moved it onto the landing. It's stopped now. Think what others said about a fox etc is true. I'm rural too albeit in a small estate my garden backs onto fields.
    I hope you get sorted.
