Two Open Water Swim events in Donegal

Sheephaven Bay 3.5km Sea Swim - 8th July

Come and swim in the beautiful Sheephaven Bay in County Donegal!
This 3.5km swim will start from the iconic Horn Head and you will swim back to our base at Portnablagh pier.

It promises to be a great swim with sea cliffs and caves on your right and Killahoey beach in front of you. Safety will be paramount with both safety boats and kayaks on the water at all times. Boats will bring all swimmers out to the start point at Horn Head.

We are delighted that the swim is also part of the 2017 H2O Swim Play Series, so lots of fun and lots of points to be gained here!

All swimmers will be provided with a hat, t-shirt, hot food after the swim, medals for all finishers and lots of category prizes.


Gartan Swim Challenge - 19th August.

Pick your distance! 300 (for 12-16s) 750m, 1.5km, and 3.8km.

Kudos for having separate wetsuit/skins categories in the Sheephaven swim. Do you mind me asking why you don't have separate ones in the Garten swim?

Hmm - As far as I know we do, it's maybe just not on the Active.com page for Gartan. Certainly there were prizes for skins last year. It may be a question when people go to register.

Double kudos in that case!

Sheephaven swim in particular looks great, would like to do it some year. A bit far from where I live in south England so will have to plan a trip back home for it (and many more!) in future years. Good luck with them.

Thanks - yep, just confirmed there were prizes for skins in each of the distances last year.
