Long forgotten fishing/survival TV show

Many years ago (around 10-15 anyway), I used to watch a British tv show which was a fishing/survival competition where 2 men were sent into the wilds of somewhere cold and damp in the UK with only a few basic items. At the start they had to select one or two things from a range of options like a tent, sleeping bag and so on. Each day they had to fish in a specific area; one would be fishing off the beach, the other off rocks for example, and only got to eat what they caught. I think the winner of each day's fishing won a little treat like a baby bottle of whiskey or some chocolate and the overall prize was equally small and unglamorous. I don't think it ran for more than one season, which is a pity because it was really good in a very low-budget sort of way.

I've been trying on and off to remember what it was called for months now and nothing is coming to mind; Internet searches have yielded nothing useful.

Am I imagining it, did this show really exist?

I've been googling on and off for months to find the name of this show and thats how I stumbled upon your question here. Sadly I have yet to find it. What I remember is after a day of fishing both men would send their results via some sort of mobile phone and get rewards accordingly. Do you remember which channel it was on? In my mind it was on discovery channel, but digging through their broadcasted programs I can't find it.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one trying to find it! Unfortunately I don't remember which channel it was on except that it was something a bit off the mainstream like Discovery, as you say. It's weird that it's so hard to trace; it really wasn't so very long ago but barely anyone remembers it - I thought it was great fun
