Just a casual PS4 gamer, FIFA, F1 etc and looking to try something different. I'm toying between Watch Dogs 2 and Battlefield 1.

Now I did have both Watch Dogs 1 and Battlefield 4 and I really enjoyed them both and I do love an open air game like GTAV and WD1. Any recommendations on which to get? I hear WD2 didnt really kick off but the demo looks fairly good.

The demo is worth trying out for Watch Dogs 2, will give you an idea if you will play it. Personally, I bought it as I enjoyed WD1 but GTA V ruined it for me. Anytime I think of playing Watch Dogs 2, I remember how much better GTA V did everything and go play that instead :D

Battlefield 1 is excellent on all counts and you'll get serious mileage out of it if you enjoy MP.

Watch Dogs 2 was a definite improvement on the first, but I found there were still a lot of problems with it in terms of repetitiveness and really poor gameplay design and mechanics.

Have you played Horizon Zero Dawn? It's certainly a different type of open world game, but the story, gameplay and world it created are all spectacular.

    +1 for Horizon.

I'd only consider Battlefield if you like the multiplayer aspect as the campaign is short and honestly not very good.

Unless you are the sort of person who can play the same multiplayer game for hours on end I wouldn't bother with Battlefield. It's good but I can generally only play an hour or two before playing something else.

The single player is pretty poor.

Well for shooters, Overwatch is FREE next weekend to try out.

    Otherwise...I'm gonna say....YAKUZA 0 !!!!
    Open world....in Japan...with Yakuza...and Karaoke...and cool fighting...and dancing...and the most random side stories you'll come across.
    GOTY 2017 !! :D (PS4 Exclusive too )

Horizon if you have a PS4, if you have a WiiU or Switch Zelda is far better but can't go wrong with Horizon.

I'd take Horizon over Watchdogs 1 which is like being bukkaked with boring.

I've been struggling whether I should buy either Persona 5 or Yakuza Zero myself. Decision's Decision's

The Last of Us Remastered or The Witcher 3 would be my vote.

I would also go with Horizon or Rainbow 6 Seige.

Don't bother with Battlefield, get Doom!!! Playing it at the moment and it is the mutt's nuts.

From the suggestions above, definitely pick up Horizon and TLoU. Two amazing games, one open world, the other more straight forward-ish.

I'd like to counter other people though, and say don't bother with Watch_Dogs 2, unless you have no issues with hipsterness.

The Witcher 3 Game of the Year edition if you want single player.

Overwatch or Rainbow 6:Siege if you want multiplayer.

You could also get CIV6 that is well worth sinking a few months into, nothing better then conquering worlds.

The Witcher 3 is essential really.. Hands down the best open world Single player game out there..

Horizon:Zero Dawn is a close second

If you have a pc ,PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a great Multiplayer game

You need to play a good old school style FPS.

    You have
    Doom,
    The New Order,
    Shadow Warrior

All fantastic fun games to play. You leave your head at the door and you get some classic none stop action

For something a bit different maybe lasts years Ratchet and Clank could be a good to play another game that is just so much fun to play.

Was looking into getting rise of the tomb raider, is it worth it at 60 quid?

Are the fighting mechanics better in Witcher 3 than they were in Witcher 2? Like 2 but the fighting annoyed me.

Definitely better combat, with more variation available, but some people say it's the weakest part of the game. I really enjoyed it personally, mainly for the sword play. It's no Dark Souls, but it's definitely holds up.

The combat is better that Witcher 2 but it is the weakest part of the game, the exploring, storyline and atmosphere are what had me put 360hours into it..

And ive recently restarted it from scratch..

Wolfenstein the New Order is only €4 on the store at the moment. Absolute bargain!

What platform? 60 is overpriced. More like the 25 range at this stage. Can be gotten on Xbox Deals With Gold at the moment from €12-€25 depending on the region:

I just picked it up in Smyths for €15 pre-owned.

    Ps4

Yeah 60 is way to high, surprised it hasn't budged yet, I'll have a look in some shops tomorrow to see if I can get it cheaper.
