    Hi guys

Just a quick one. I'm wondering does anyone know the intervals at which the timing belt needs replacement on these cars? I found a document on google stating 200,000 km but that seems very high to me. Any input?

    Cheers

Yeah but it's over 8 years. It's whichever comes first.

Sorry, thought that bit was obvious! The belt degrades through age as well as use.

100,000 or 10 years, which ever is first, hence yours in due in age but not mileage (have a 02 Fiesta with 68k miles)

No way I'd leave a belt that long, no matter what the recommended interval was!

Those are 1.3 and have a mazda engine that is not shared with the fiesta.

Yep, the older boxy one from 2003 had the 1.25 engine, but that finished up in 2007, unless you have one of those with an 08 plate.

The newer 1.3 uses a timing chain as far as I know.

Ford revised to 8 years or 100k for the Mk6. :)
