As of this morning, Silvestre De Sousa is 11/10 favourite. SDS has been in awesome form, notching 3 wins out of his 4 rides yesterday at Ripon alone (2 of which were saddled by another man in form, Richard Hannon).

While SDS does seem to get rides from the top trainers I wouldn't say they lash them his way. He just seems to be making the most out of the books he's getting.

I know most people don't give a sh1t about it but I've always found the race to top jockey fascinating. :)

He's my favourite jockey. I think he often gets rides on long shots because they reckon if anyone can get a result from a non-performer it'll be him. I love the whole underdog aspect, and the fact that he left home and travelled half way around the world to follow his dream. He strikes me as a bit of a maverick and I think if I ever met him in person I would be utterly dumbstruck.

(from his biggest fan in a non-Misery way) :D:D

De sousa is absolutely flying at the moment . There are various whisperings that he was a bit peeved Crowley got the big yard job after winning last year . I noticed he steered clear of the Dante meeting last week and duly rode 6 winner from 12 races over two days clearly he's out to make a point I would snatch the price he's at now to take this year's championship. I've noticed he rarely places not an ew price man at all worth a super Yankee now and then when the other top jocks go elsewhere .
