    Hi
I'm getting internal insulation in my house and considering putting 1 inch on the ceilings in the bedrooms and landing as well as attic insulation. Would this work weel to keep the heat getting into the attic.
Would this have this approach offer better heat saving and be worth wise than say just doing attic insulation ?

    great job.
we did that to our bathroom. great heat retention.

a secondry benefit is that the ceiling and walls will be skimmed so there wont be as much cracking between the two

We fitted 50mm high density to all outside walls and ceilings under the attic, along with 300mm in attic.
Downstairs ceilings also got 25mm high density along with rock wool between joists.
All studded walls got rockwool too.

Excellent heat retention and sound control.

120mm cavity pumped with beads too.

    Agree, great job.

I only used 30mm insulation on flat ceilings, attic roof was sprayed.
50mm on sloped ceilings as the spray had been shaved back.

Only downside is the build up of snow on the roof in the winter.................

Strikes me as cheaper to get another 100mm attic insulation on top of what's going in. The most important thing is that it's installed correctly - it's a horrible job and the tendency is to avoid fitting it properly in the difficult to access areas.

Cheaper maybe but insulated boards under joists breaks the cold bridge from the plaster board to the joist which insulation above won't

Also worth mentioning that insulation layers above should be laid at 90 degrees to each other for maximum efficiency.
