break in Ireland

So I've been told I have to take some holidays from work as I can't carry them over, so I have the last week in May off.

I had already planned to go abroad in September, so looking for somewhere to take 3-4 days solo in ireland that won't break the bank. just looking to chill really for a few days.

Nice hotels, apart hotels, resorts all welcome. Urban or rural I don't mind.
A pool would be a plus.

Not bothered really where but please don't suggest Galway. ( not a fan of the place, its over priced and apart from pubs there is little to do there, and living in Clare I've been there far too many times on nights out), or Kilkenny (similar).

EDIT : GOOD websites for last minute holidays would be good too. Not finding many on lastminute.com or booking.com etc

    Any help appreciated

Have a look at the likes of Groupon for hotel deals, then contact the hotels directly and ask if they'll match the deal. We did this a couple of times and it's worked out very well for us.

As for where to go, there's more to Galway than just the city. Connemara is excellent. A good bit to see and there's some awesome spots to chill out. West Cork is lovely too.

Or come east and give Wicklow a go! Some lovely places to see... Sally Gap, Glendalough, Vale of Avoca, Avondale. Enough to keep you occupied for a few days.

Aran Islands. Do a night on each of them.

See if you can switch to this week and take advantage of the weather! Then do the Waterford Greenway, stay in Dungarvan and then set off visiting Lismore Castle and points west into Cork and just see how the mood takes you.
