What a win by Tom Dumoulin today ...that man is certainly confident and is flying
Funniest moment was when Nairo Quintana looked back after his umpteen attack and saw Tom still coming at him ...Quintana's face said it all

But its not over till the fat lady sings in Milano ..I think there will be a few more twists in this tale yet ...somewhere Chris Foome is watching with a big smile on his face

Meanwhile on to Bergamo ...I think if there was ever a stage for a breakaway then this is it...GC guys will be taking it easy after today and before the big mountains ... It may be the final chance for a breakaway

    rbJYG1T.jpg?1

So the breakaway contenders are imo
Diego Rosa did a turn off the front today to show he is still about.and he rode a fantastic Lombardy last year . Michael Woods on the other hand took it nice and easy and now that Cannondale have broken their duck ..maybe they will win a few stages ..Woods is a good bet for tomorrow . Omar Fraile and maybe even Philip Deignan may get a chance ..Another who has been in good form is Luis Leon Sanchez and Rui Costa is a strong candidate

If the break is brought back then maybe Adam Yates has a chance Vincenzo Nibali may also try something on the descent Andrey Amador is a top descender and will want to get time back or put Dumoulin under pressure

But the GC men may still try for time on Dumoulin, when he is least expecting it . If they can isolate him from his team mates ...who knows....anything can and will happen

Worth catching yesterday's stage? The highlights didn't record for some reason and it's not up on Eurosport player yet.

Bergamo. Isn't that where Ryanair fly when you are suppose to be going to Milan?

Yup. It's not the worst of the 'major city' airports that Ryanair fly to.

Infernal pace so far and no break of the day, not looking like an easy one for the GC Candidates if this keeps up too much longer!

Some of the sprinters could decide to call it a day with the way that this day is turning out

Don't think anyone would blame TD if he hadn't slowed there.

Quintana off again for a bike change. Team should get him back on.

Who are Eurosport commentating to when they go on an ad break for UK (and irish) viewers? I though they had gone very UK centric with their coverage recently so I'm surprised Rob Hatch seems he has to update viewers after the ad break.

Annoying, because we've missed so much with all the ad breaks during the Giro.

The live coverage on the Eurosport App perhaps. Or maybe this commentary feed is broadcast to another Eurosport channel on continental Europe.

Looked like he whacked into it and went over the handlebars.

Bobby Jungels takes his first WT win and demonstrates that he is the strongest sprinter of the GC riders.

Quintana is surprisingly 2nd, picking up 6 bonus seconds.

TD didn't really compete in the sprint and is probably quite annoyed that Quintana got those bonus seconds.

Just watched the reply. Really good sprint from Quintana, got on Jungels wheel

Really enjoyable stage to watch. Probably hell to ride given the mad pace. Spent last summer in Bergamo and it's a lovely city. I wonder has Nibali lost his nerve a bit on the descents? It was noticeable that he backed off on the descent off the Città Alta.

Tanel Kangert was a DNF after he crashed into some road furniture.
X-rays revealed a fracture in his right humerus and also left elbow.
He's going to be fairly incapacitated for a while...

ugh, that was one of the worst looking crashes i've seen in a long time.
