Have used 5% with no bother.
Allot of the difficulty comes from bull, dam herself, feeding of incalf heifer in last trimester & gestation length.
    I've used LM4007 on heifers Calving late 17 / early 18 at 24 months

I've used the Saler bulls Rio, Valliant and Highfield Odran on heifers calving at 26 months and 32 months for the last couple of years. They're a dream at calving on lim heifers that would be in good condition. It'll be Salers or an odd AA on all heifers here from now on. I think is better to play it safe on heifers especially calving at around 2 yr old.
What Sim bull are you looking at?

5 or 6% is what I like but wouldn't be scared of a bit extra with the right heifer.

Biased here but wouldn't use Angus or salers on Limousin. Plenty options within the lim breed. Really depends on the heifers, are they very musely? Feeding is also key. Just my tuppance worth. Lookup zag very small calves at birth and something to sell at the end.
