Resetting manual handbrake release Scenic 2007

    hi can anyone advise on how to reset the manual handbrake release in the boot of an 07 renault scenic?? can i diy it?

    also ive been told the problem is either the rear brake caliper, electric unit or switch, are these big/expensive jobs anyone know before i get more into the bcar with money :(
