2.0 tdi Common rail engines

    Well lads, just looking to speak to other mechanics out there can anyone tell me do the 2.0 tdi common rail engines have the same oil pump failures that the 2.0 tdi pd engines had? Thinking of buying one of the common rail ones but would like to know if this stupid balancer shaft system was gotten rid of in favour of chain driven pump!
    Would appreciate feedback, mostly looking at 140:170 bhp engines in golfs Jettas skodas
