What is the most profitable crop

Hi guys,

So I'm looking at getting into some kind of farming by renting some land, 40 acres to be exact.

What would be the best way to make money with it? I will be able to put in about 20 hours work per week on it.

Any suggestions?

I'd say the best way is not to rent it in the first place.

I'm not being smart but most farm enterprises are loss making excluding subsidies. Don't get involved because you want to make a quick few quid, get involved because it's something you enjoy but reading your other posts I think you want to make a quick few quid.

Dairying is probably the most likely to be profitable but a non runner starting out renting 40 acres unless you have the facilities like a parlour included and even then with no experience you could lose your shirt at it.
