Following on from the mention of the Shetland breed of cattle in chit chat thread. Never realised there were so much.

Cheers for that I had a limo that has im down even with it's lm fathers tag number in as it's sire.

And there still missing one , MS is the code for a dairy shorthorn, now recognised as a separate breed

Sounds like somebody mistook an L for an I when registering. So LM became IM.

Does the Holstein and British fresian not have there own code?

For lads buying say an out and out AA heifer for breeding or killing that are in the AA scheme and when they get handed the card at mart office and it CHX can they or is there a procedure / letter from vet or genomic sample that can get her changed back to its real AA parentage so that the card breed can be switched
