How would the warranty work on these, considering they are refurbs and from iBood?

€1000 for a 2 year old refurb. A quick look on PC Specialist will get you a new 14" IPS LED screen, i5, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD for less.

Macbook does have the portability though, plus you'll look cooler in Starbucks while writing your novel.

Plus the above would be windows! A big point for many people. Really, wildly different products.

BTW Refreshed Macbooks (faster CPU's etc.) are expected to be announced soon, will probably be a lot more expensive then this, but just FYI.

You can order without an OS from PC Specialist. So even cheaper again.

    Linux FTW. :)

you've obviously never used one. Macbooks are far superior than Windows laptops. Granted the specs lag behind but compare a 3 year mac and a 3 year windows laptop and the windows laptop severely lags behind in battery and performance. I've a gaming pc which is over 2.5K and beats everything hands down but in a year or so performance on windows will be crap so I tend to do a clean install every year to clear out the trash.
I've a mac air from 2014 and it still works as good as the day I bought it. For laptops I'd only get a macbook. Plus they hold their value better.

This model is derived from the United States. This means that it comes with an EU plug. As usual with US-laptops this Macbook comes with a QWERTY keyboard (without € symbol).

    No € symbol?
Get lost IBOOD, you fcuking chancers

Indeed. What was the point in linking a site that has no MacBooks?

Linux ftw? If you can get your display drivers to output at the right resolution and get the wifi to work reliably.

The only issue with these laptops will be the return key is different on US layouts than IE layouts. To some this is a deal breaker but to others it's "what's the return key?"

I'm not questioning the performance of a Macbook, I had one myself for 6 years. I'm questioning whether a 2 year old refurb for €1000 can be classed as a bargain.

considering similar models with a 512gb spinning hard drive and half the ram (4gb) go for 1059 on Apple's refurb site then, yes, yes it's a bargain.

    it would be.
Here's the Apple refurb store.a 1 year macbook is ?1549 so its a good bargain when you consider it.

This atrocity "Core m processor 1.2Ghz" does not belong in a 1k computer. It's a cheapish macbook, but pretty dire in comparison to newer laptops.

I dunno why people are comparing an ultra book with a 12" screen to a 14" one or indeed Core M to i5 they are completely different products. Never mind comparing a desktop gaming box to a Mac Air. Just nuts.

You need to look at what a 12" Macbook is. It would be too small for me.

Is the warranty with iBood or Apple?

For a fanless, Core M processor laptop is a damn fast, running no slower then MacBook Air, if you don't do heavy graphic tasks. But anyway the question here is it a bargain or not, and I should say it is, the discounted price for this laptop is around 1.5K (online), so €999 is a bargain, you can argue is it worth the money or not, of course, but it doesn't change the fact that it was down from 1.7K.

Still looks like its not that very popular, as still available.
