So i applied for carers in august last year and was declined, appealed and attended oral hearing got a letter saying appeal was allowed; rang up social welfare told they get the copy in two weeks. Do i get payments backdated to august incl respite grant? Anyone else have problems waiting for a response after your appeal was accepted or was it quite quick?

    Thanks,
    Danny

You'll be awarded back pay to the date you applied but the grant is paid in June and you applied in August so it won't be included as you have to be getting the payment at that time for it to be automatic.
You can still apply for it if you wish.
