Buying a used car from dealer

    Hi,
Interested in your views on a car dealer.
    Car is 25k used.
Bonnet lid gap is 10mm on right side, and 2mm on opposite side at the front near grille.
Dealer said it just needed readjustment.

Also, hard sale tactics. He is going to the dentist today and has a busy day tomorrow but car will be ready in the afternoon, I wanted to finalise a few things without been pressurised!!!
Seems to be avoiding contact to get the sale closer to closing with minimal contact.

    What's your thoughts.

Have you done any kind of history check to see if the gaps are as a result of a crash? I can't see any logical reason besides a collision that such unequal gaps would exist. €25k is a lot of money to buy blindly.

Run away, panels don't just go out of alignment under normal use.
There's loads of cars and sellers out there.

Bonnet gap is adjustable but if you have a bad feeling walk away

    Cheers for the replies.
Done a check and everything is good.
What I'm concerned about is that the gap could creep back.
If you look at the bonnet face on there is your normal gap but on the right the rubber seal was squeezing out with only a 2mm gap.

    Something is very wrong here.
This sort of gap happens from damage of some sorts.
If you get no information on what happened to cause it I'd be worried something is being hidden.
Spending ?25k and such an obvious problem I'd wonder what is hidden.

Potentially damaged car, hard sell tactics, seller sounds evasive, you should walk away taking really long steps.

Just walk away and look at a different car. Unless it's something ultra rare then don't dwell on a car with misaligned panel gap.

    Something does not sit well.
    Thanks

    Dodgy as hell. Leave it.
I once travelled across the country to view a 3 year old A6 at a Renault dealer to view what was supposed to be a full history pristine car. In the flesh the front was terrible gap wise and after taking a good walk around it, I said I wouldn't need the test drive as I wasn't interest due to the appearance of the front end.
Turns out car wasn't being sold through the dealer at all. Was a private sale by the service manager who serviced it himself or at least that was the sales bullcrap. Basically a zero service history car with poorly repaired crash damage and no warranty yet the salesman got awful thick awful fast when I politely declined to drive it. Kinda funny when he was the one who wasted a full day of my time and a tank of petrol with a misrepresented car.
